Dear Barnard community,
We are reaching out on behalf of the Capital Projects department to inform you of upcoming abatement work that will take place on the lower level of Barnard Hall over Election Day weekend from Friday, Nov. 4 evening to Tuesday, Nov. 8 evening.
Please note that there will be no access to Studio 1, Studio 2, basement bathrooms and mezzanine locker rooms during this time. The tunnel will remain available.
As with all abatement work on campus, the contractor will be following strict safety protocols for air monitoring and material disposal in accordance with NYC Department of Buildings and Department of Environmental Protection regulations.
As part of the mobilization for this work, existing lockers will be removed from the lower level men's locker room as of Wednesday, November 2. Per signage in the building, any personal items left here or in the mezzanine faculty women's locker room after October 31 will be removed. Please also note that the mezzanine women's locker room for students must be cleared of all personal items by Tuesday, Nov. 15.
