Dear Barnard community,

I am reaching out on behalf of the Capital Projects department to inform you of upcoming abatement work that will be mobilizing on the lower level and mezzanine of Barnard Hall beginning the week of September 19th. This work will continue intermittently for a duration of five weeks. Please note that tunnel access through the lower level of the building will be maintained at all times.

Below is a brief overview of general expectations for this work:

1. The contractor will be following strict safety protocols for air monitoring and material disposal in accordance with NYC Department of Buildings and Department of Environmental Protection regulations.

2. Abatement signage and containment barriers will be in place for the duration of the work.

3. Limited closure of the mezzanine locker rooms will be posted and coordinated to minimize disruption.

4. All other occupied areas and corridors will remain accessible for the duration of work.

Capital Projects is managing this project on behalf of Barnard College and is coordinating with Facilities and CARES on all activities. We are available to answer any questions you have pertaining to the work involved.

Thank you in advance for your patience during this work. Should you have any questions, please reach out to us directly at the contacts below.

All the best,

Cyrine Ait Oumeziane
