During the 2011 Annual NAFSA (Association of International Educators) Conference, Associate Provost and Dean for International Programs Hilary Link and Dean for Study Abroad Gretchen Young accepted one of the 2011 Senator Paul Simon Spotlight Awards for Campus Internationalization. The award is "presented to institutions with specific innovative international programs or initiatives." Barnard won the award in recognition of their Visiting International Students Program (VISP) and the annual Global Symposia.
