Dear Barnard Community,

We are pleased to share that we are entering the main construction phase of work on the new Francine A. LeFrak Foundation Center for Well-Being in Barnard Hall. The construction team will be mobilizing over the upcoming spring break to prepare for heavier construction work in the later half of the semester and into the summer months.

Upcoming activities during the week of March 13-17 will be concentrated on the Lower Level of the building, and may include:

  • Loading of materials, concrete demolition, layout and preparation for Pool Infill work
  • Temporary Wall Construction and Scaffold Erection in the Lower Level corridors
  • Additional Abatement within designated construction and containment areas
  • Crash Deck / Working Platform installation on the Lower Level near the North Elevator (Tentative, involving flagmen regulating but not impeding tunnel access)

We will be doing our best to minimize disruptions and keep you informed as the project moves forward this spring and summer.
