Plimpton Hall

Plimpton Hall was built in 1968 and named for George A. Plimpton, an early Board member and Treasurer for the College.

Location	1235 Amsterdam Avenue (at the corner of 121st Street)
Population	A mix of upperclass students, primarily Sophomores
Common Areas	TV Lounge, Study Lounge, Computer Lab, and patio terraces on the 1st floor
Room Layout	Single & double rooms in 6-person suites
Furniture	Bed (XL Twin), desk, chair, dresser, and wardrobe/closet space
Security	24-hour access attendant at the front desk
Internet	WiFi access
Bathrooms	Each suite shares a bathroom. Students are responsible for cleaning their suite bathroom.
Kitchens	Each suite has a kitchen with a sink, stove/oven, refrigerator, and cabinet space Students may supply their own microwave for use in the kitchen For a list of permissible kitchen appliances, please visit Prohibited Items
Laundry	Located in the basement (more info)
Mail & Packages	All students receive mail & packages at the Student Mail Room
Accessibility	The building entrance has steps. For wheelchair access through the side gate to the basement level, please contact Barnard Community Safety. The elevators stop at all floors, including the basement.
