Two Barnard faculty members recently received major research grant awards, enabling them to continue existing studies. The College also received several major grants that support current and future programs. 


John Glendinning, Ann Whitney Olin professor of biology, received an award from Comet Biorefining to continue his research on the “Metabolic impacts of corn- vs. wood-based sugars on mice.”

 

 


Stephen Sturley
, term assistant professor in the Department of Biology, received National Institutes of Health funding through a collaborative grant with the University of Notre Dame for his project entitled “Splicing modulators for rare disease indications.”

 

 

 


In addition, Beyond Barnard received renewed funding for the Daniel and Florence Guggenheim Foundation Oscar S. Straus II Fellows in Criminal Justice via the Pace Center for Civic Engagement at Princeton University. The Barnard Center for Research on Women received support from the Gay Men's Health Crisis, the Research Foundation for SUNY, Astraea Foundation, and HBO for the Black Lesbian Conference. The Higher Education Opportunity Program received support from Westwood Holdings Group.
