Price for August Interim Housing
The cost for August Interim is $900. Note: this is not covered by financial aid.
Students who are approved for early move-in in order to be an Orientation Leader, etc. will receive a prorated reduction in price only after the early move-in request is received & approved from their sponsoring department.
The August Interim charge will need to be paid (along with the Fall tuition bill) by the August 6 payment deadline (otherwise, students would not be able to remain on campus for August Interim).
Requirements for August Interim Housing
Students approved for August Interim housing will be required to stay on campus for the entire time. The interim period is not to provide storage for students’ belongings so they may leave campus.
All students will be required to move first to a temporary, non-air-conditioned, shared double-occupancy room in the Quad in order to facilitate the cleaning of the residence halls for the Fall. Students will be required to then move to their Fall room assignment when instructed.
Students who fail to move when required will be fined (minimum $500) to have their belongings removed from campus and are subject to disciplinary action (which could include the loss of August Interim and/or academic year housing).
Students must abide by all College and Residential Life policies and procedures (http://barnard.edu/reslife/handbook) while in the Barnard residence halls. Allegations of policy violation will be subject to the disciplinary process and may result in sanctions up to or including removal from interim and/or academic year summer housing.
Students may not give access to their room and/or suite to others, including roommate(s), suitemate(s), and/or floormate(s), who have not been given permission to move in prior to the official Fall move-in date for new or continuing students. If found to have given access to another student or their belongings, both students will be subject to disciplinary action, which could include the loss of early housing and/or academic year housing.
