The Explorers Series launched on April 20 with a keynote conversation between Provost & Dean of the Faculty Linda A. Bell and Anna Quindlen ’74. Register for May 18 or June 22 when NPR's Michel Martin P'26 will moderate a plenary conversation featuring three distinguished alumnae. These opening and concluding events will frame the three sessions and showcase Barnard experts in the fields represented by our faculty-led breakout sessions.
Explorers Series - Spring 2024 Topics
What Does Participation in Barnard|Next Explorers Series Include?
Faculty-Led Sessions
Each Saturday session (held on April 20, May 18, and June 22) will feature morning and afternoon faculty-led breakout sessions on Democracy and the 2024 American Elections, Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Science, and The Vitality of the Humanities. Participants select two topics to delve into for the length of the Series. Then, each Saturday, attend one topic breakout session in the morning and a second topic breakout session in the afternoon.
Learning in community is what Barnard|Next is all about — and what better way than through sharing meals? All Saturdays include a breakfast and lunch where you can begin dialoguing with fellow alumnae who share your history at Barnard and who, similarly to you, are reigniting their exploration and growth through our lifelong learning series. What an opportunity to exchange perspectives and professional or personal contexts surrounding the topics.
All in-person Barnard|Next participants in Spring 2024 gain access to faculty-led breakout sessions, keynote conversations featuring exciting Barnard alumnae voices, and opportunities to network and connect across our incredible community.

In Spring 2024, Barnard|Next’s inaugural Explorers Series is open to Barnard alumnae (and their invitees), families of current Barnard students, and other friends of Barnard College. Barnard|Next will expand its offerings and audiences beginning in Fall 2024. Questions about Barnard|Next can be sent to barnardnext@barnard.edu.
